Olympic qualification standings for U.S. beach volleyball
 Last updated 3/14/2008.
MEN Points from top 8 events (January 1, 2007 through July 20, 2008) count toward Olympic qualifying total
Team Total Points  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
1 Dalhausser/Rogers 3300 1000 640 540 480 480 160
2 Gibb/Rosenthal 1900 600 480 320 180 160 160
3 Lambert/Metzger 1440 640 320 200 160 120
In 2008 there are 12 FIVB men's events (4 of the events are grand slams) before the Olympic qualification deadline.
Dalhausser and Rogers are in a very good position, having won the world championships last year (worth 1000 points).
Dalhausser/Rogers and Gibb/Rosenthal still need to compete in 2 more FIVB events to meet the minimum required
participation in 8 Olympic qualifying FIVB tournaments.  Lambert/Metzger need to compete in 3 more events.
WOMEN Points from top 8 events (January 1, 2007 through July 20, 2008) count toward Olympic qualifying total
Team Total Points  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
1 May-Treanor/Walsh 5840 1000 800 800 800 640 600 600 600
2 Branagh/Youngs 3700 600 540 480 480 480 480 320 320

4 Turner/Wacholder 2144 640 400 360 320 240 160 24
In 2008 there are 11 FIVB women's events (4 of the events are grand slams) before the Olympic qualification deadline.
If Boss/Ross took four 5ths (one of them being in a grand slam), then they would have 3740 points and would
overtake Branagh/Youngs.  This assumes that Branagh/Youngs don't improve their standing.
Branagh/Youngs can only improve their qualification points total if they finish 5th or better.
Boss/Ross and Turner/Wacholder have not played in the minimum 8 events and any points they earn in their 8th event
will improve their totals.
